Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small values stored by a browser and commonly sent with later requests to the relevant website. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which scripts can use to retain information in the browser. They are distinct from the browser cache, which can retain copies of page resources to improve loading.
The publication’s own code
The publication pages and project-note script do not set cookies or use localStorage or sessionStorage. They do not include advertising trackers or analytics libraries. Navigation state and reveal animations operate within the current page and are not used to identify you across visits.
A consent or security service supplied separately by the hosting platform may have its own storage behaviour. If a preference control is displayed by that service, use its controls to manage the choices it describes. The description here does not claim to inventory technologies added outside the publication’s own files.
Local notes, clipboard and downloads
The project-note builder holds your text in the current page while it is open. Its Copy action writes the generated note to your clipboard after you request it. Its Download action creates a text file through your browser. These are not cookies and are not transmitted to us by the tool.
You can remove downloaded files through your device’s file manager and replace or clear clipboard contents using your device controls. Your browser may retain form values or restore a previous page independently of the tool. Use a private browsing session or adjust form-restoration settings if that behaviour concerns you.
Managing browser data
Most browsers let you view and delete site data, block cookies and limit third-party storage through their privacy settings. The exact controls vary by browser and device. Clearing site data can remove saved choices provided by a separate consent service, which may then ask for them again.
Blocking storage does not prevent the technical requests needed to deliver a web page. Server-side request processing and any operational logs are separate matters; see our Privacy notice.
External links
We link to research, standards and supplier websites rather than embedding their tools. Visiting an external website may allow that website to set its own cookies according to its policies and your browser settings. Review its information before accepting optional technologies.
